General:

How do I create an account?
You can click on Teacher Registration on the home page and create your free account. You will need to provide a valid email address just to verify your account, we will never use your address for any other purpose.

How much space do I get for my website?
You will get 5 megabytes to upload pictures and other files (class handouts, projects, etc.) to your website. You can create as many assignments, class notes, and calendar events as you want!

Does my webpage have its own address?
Yes, your website address will be www.classnotesonline.com/teacher/username, where username is your username. The username is case sensitive, and also includes any punctuation and spaces. If your username is Mrs. Smith, your address will be: www.classnotesonline.com/teacher/Mrs. Smith.


How is this site free, and will it always remain free?

ClassNotesOnline is free because of the banner advertisements on the top and sides of your pages, and will remain free forever. If you see any questionable advertisement please contact info@ClassNotesOnline.com immediately.

How do I get started?
After you have verified your email address and selected a username and password, you can log in on the teacher log in page here. To create your first class click on the New Class button on your menu and follow the directions. In a few minutes you will have your site online!

What if I do not want all of the available features on my site?

You have the option to add or remove and features of your website at any time. After you create a new class you are brought to the Add or Remove Features page where you can check as many features as you want. If you have no need for example, for a Classroom Photo Gallery, you can choose to omit it.

I have decided I want to add or remove a feature that I did not select when I created the class.
If you want to add a feature after you have created a class, you can log in and click on Home and select Add or Remove Features of the class you want to change. Here you can add or remove any feature.

I already have all of my class notes and handouts on my computer, can I post them on my site?

Yes! All you have to do is open up your word processor (Microsoft Word, Lotus Notes, etc), highlight the text you want to post, click edit, and then click copy. Now log in to ClassNotesOnline.com, open the feature you would like to paste to (Class Notes, Syllabus, etc) and click on the Paste From Word icon, or hold the CTRL button and hit ‘V’.

How do I create student log in names?
You can log in and go to Add or Remove Students next to a class to add students to a class. You can select a Student Password for each student to secure their grades.

How do I use the Gradebook feature now that I have added students?
Click on Add New next to Gradebook. After you add the Graded Assignment you can update the grades of all the students you have added to the class.


How do I include pictures to my pages?
You can include pictures by clicking on the Insert/Edit Image button pictures below. Here you can either select a web address where the picture is already uploaded, or choose to upload the image from your computer. To upload the image click on "Browse Server" in the dialog box. Now at the bottom you can click on "Browse" to select the file you wish to upload. Once you select the file, click upload. Now, simply click on the filename in the window to include the image in the document.

How do I include a link on my pages?
Once you are in the editor, highlight the text you want to become the link. Once highlighted, click on the “Insert/Edit link button pictured below. Now you can type in the web address you want the link to go to. Also, if you are familiar with html, you can click the Source button and view the entire page as html where you can directly enter the link.

Student View:
How do I use the Gradebook feature now that I have added students?
Click on Add New next to Gradebook. After you add the Graded Assignment you can update the grades of all the students you have added to the class.
